Pregnancy
Pregnant women face an increased risk from severe COVID complications and death. COVID also increases the chances of pre-term delivery and still-births.
While there was initial caution about vaccines for pregnant women, we now know vaccines are very safe for them, and help protect from serious illness. Millions of women have taken them. Check with your physician if you have any other medical issues, and might be in a vulnerable group for other reasons.
Breastfeeding
If you have COVID yourself and are breastfeeding, it is advisable to wear a mask and wash hands, to prevent your baby getting infected.
There are no health concerns about breastfeeding mothers getting vaccinated.
