Vulnerable Groups

Some people are at higher risk from COVID:

  • over 65 years old
  • cancer
  • diabetes
  • obesity
  • pregnant women
  • heart / lung disease
  • weak immune system (eg. cancer, HIV)

Where appropriate, such vulnerable groups should be prioritised for vaccination. They should also stay masked and protected from contact from people likely to get infected.

People who work with many other people, especially healthcare workers, are at higher risk. They are a high priority for vaccines, to protect themselves, and to stop them spreading COVID to other very vulnerable people.
